Here you can share in some of those memories. Also, if you have somethig to add, tell bob and let him know!

Slip and Bleed

I was walking around my neighborhood the other day when I saw one of these things: an old school Slip and Slide. I remember begging Mom and Dad for one when I was a kid. Nothing beat a hot summer day more than setting that on the lawn, plugging in the hose, and going to town. My friend was the most popular kid on the block because he had one. And I was jealous. Alas, having one myself wasn't meant to be. I guess that's a good thing, since our lawn was more rocks than grass, anyway. That certainly wouldn't have been any fun.

What was the last "unconventional" pet you owned?

A couple of days ago, a listener sent me a nice link from waaaaaaay back.

...I do remember going to Fournier's on Friday nights to see bands in the late 60's and 70's until torn down in 1972. Then there were/are the ThunderMen. Good old rock and roll! These guys played in and around Eau Claire for years and as far as I know, still do. I also remember going to the Pines in Bloomer on Saturday nights to see bands. I like Bob Remembers on the radio. It brings back memories from the ...

The Storm

I remember a lot of things. Some of them I would like to forget. The Storm of 1980 is definitely one of those things. On July 15th of that year, a huge storm with straight-line winds of over 100 miles per hour pounded the area that evening. The monetary damage was amazing: nearly $160 million for all of the counties affected. I remember watching "Blazing Saddles" on my betamax player when the storm hit. I've never experienced anything like that since, nor do I wish to. Luckily, my car was ok...as was my house. But I had no power for days. (That made it kind of difficult to play my new Pink Floyd album. I really liked "The Wall".) What do you remember of the storm?

Add your comments and memories below. I'll post 'em to see what others remember, too.
