Farmer's Markets

One of the things I like most about the area is the abundance of farmer's markets. Nearly every day I can go to one, if I so desire. It's my preference to hit the one at Phoenix Park, since I drive past there everyday. I've found that the fresh vegetables are definitely the way to go. I'm still a little leary about the meat, but the fruits and vegetables get a thumbs up!

My place got quite a boom yesterday with all of the storms that came through. 3 different storms! Anyhow, I found it coincidental that today is the 30th anniversary of the big straight-line storm that hit the area in 1980. I remember being out of town that day, so thankfully I didn't sit through it. However, I do remember coming home the next day and seeing a tree sticking through my kitchen window, and my '79 Nova much worse for the wear. (That made me sad. I really liked that car.)

I was just notified today that I will be spending my entire weekend redoing my flower bed. I wasn't aware that it needed tending to. In fact, I never knew I even had a flower bed until a few hours ago. Sometimes, I wish my neighbors weren't so nosy.
